AUGUST
Within a Great Sea of Love, my soul did hide;
Your beautiful dream to the world unknown.
It was a magical realm where angels abide,
And recited poetry as they circled my throne.
Angels were ordained there to provide,
And care for the Seed with love sown.
The door to your heart, they opened wide,
And I entered, and knew I was not alone.
I danced and kicked, and swam inside
That warm Sea where your true love shone.
With no knowledge of the world outside,
I only had your warm Sea to roam.
But soon the angels would all decide,
This Sea was no longer fit for home.
You laughed in pain, as the angels sighed,
Knowing the Seed was now fully grown.
For months I journey, your joy and pride;
A holy design decreed to be shown.
For months I journey, until your swarming tide
Carried me off with a cheerful moan.
For months I journey, and then I cried,
And became the last of your dreams known.
Oh, what greater wish is there beside,
Than a Lyrical Heart to call your very own?

I LOVE YOU WHOLLY
I like the way you twirl your long hair,
When in dalliance on the couch you lay.
You playfully frown and hold your stare,
Waiting for me to blow a kiss your way.
Your silly laughter tingles my skin,
And like a candle, I melt at night.
Beautiful eyes that pull me in,
And bring my darkened life to hope and light.
I love the sound of your gibberish voice,
When you end an argument with a sneer.
I like how often you leave me no choice,
But to whisper love verses into your ear.
How softly you walk and break a smile,
And work every curve with perfect motion.
And then you smirk, knowing all the while,
Your dance induced my fervor and devotion.
I like the way you bite your lips,
When you whisper something silently;
And how you place both hands on your hips
And scowl, thinking I understood what you said to me.
When we hug, and I’m pressed against your breast,
My griefs and burdens you make me forget.
Then you kiss me and I find eternal rest,
And swoon upon your heart, my little coquette.
I love the red cheeks that light your face,
Whenever you blush and roll your eyes.
I love you wholly, your fairness and grace;
Your moods, attitudes, faults, and lies.

REVERENCE
It’s the butterfly that suddenly appears,
And beguiles my soul to leap out.
The bird songs gratify my ears,
Entreating my heart to rejoice and shout.
It’s the buzzing of summer bees,
And the flora that entices them in.
The glow of sunlight on restless trees,
As they dance and bow to the soft wind.
The bliss of night and its countless eyes,
And the full moon gracing the sea.
It’s the wonderment of the fireflies,
That confirms the miracle of nature to me.
The ever-vigilant owls in the tree
Begging the mice to come out and play.
The sleepless crickets singing in melody,
As the magical night slowly melts away.
But, best of all, it’s the laughter I hear,
Where I lay my head to rest-
Love songs and poetry fill my ear,
As I lay there upon your breast.

MY SOLE ABODE
I search my thoughts, but I’m devoid and helpless
To try and verse your fairness and sweetness.
My lips shiver, and my tongue is all numbed up;
Your frown is enough to leave me speechless.
Can the rose compare to your stature and grace?
Or the light of the moon to your blushing face?
Can the moon bathe me with the same warmth?
Or do rose petals touch me with a softer embrace?
Crows mock the nightingale because they know,
Nothing sweet from their throats can ever flow.
Sugar is so sweet, and honey is sweeter still,
But sweeter are the kisses your lips bestow.
I once hoped for paradise and feared hell’s calamity,
Now, I exist for the moment to verse your beauty.
Imprisoned and humbled inside your warm heart,
How could the sorrows of this world touch me?
You smile, and from clouds the sun shines through,
And dries all the joyous tears I wept for you.
Your heart is my sole abode, where am I to go?
Your love is my existence, what am I to do?

THREE SIMPLE WORDS
I held her tight,
And refused to let go.
Her body got warmer,
Her breathing was gradual and slow.
She raised her face,
As her coral eyes met mine.
She blushed, and a smile so bright
Bewitched me, tingling my spine.
She squeezed in closer,
And whispered into my ear.
She spoke the three simple words
All living mortals long to hear.
She waited, gazing so timidly,
But I’m a man, timid and high-strung.
Three simple words harbored there,
Just hovering on the tip of my tongue.

YOUR BEAUTY
My tongue is stuttering nonsense.
My eyes traumatized by your angelic face.
My heart is bleeding with words to verse you,
Buy my mind struggles to conceive your grace.
Your presence haunts my every thought,
Yet, I find solace in the chaos you’ve created.
Each moment spent in this reverie
Becomes a cherished escape, and I’m sedated.
All the sleepless nights thinking of you!
Look what your beauty does to me;
You stray my soul and leave my mind
Suspended between dream and reality.

TWO FOUNTAINS
Her elusive beauty caught me in a noose.
Weakened by her smile, how can I break loose?
The harder I pulled to set myself free,
The tighter she squeezed and bound me.
Her fruitful garden before me was laid bare,
And as I hunger, I indulged in all the fruits there.
I placed my lips on her two fountains of truth,
And tasted the sweet-scented waters of youth.
I have now forsaken reason and belief,
Separated from her, I find only grief.
I saw her beauty, and it blinded me.
I drank her poison, and now I can see.

This Euphoric Love
This euphoric love that binds me to you,
Has been ordained by heaven’s decree.
Such beauty and grace I never knew,
Until the day you smiled at me.
Since that day I touched your grace,
Of pain and sorrow I do not complain.
So long as I am wrapped in your embrace,
I am free of life’s oppression and pain.
When my eyes first saw your beauty,
My logic and reasoning fled away.
My heart burned for what my eyes did see,
Now I only want to write poetry all day.
Your love came, and my heart began to thirst;
How badly I thirsted for you, God only knows.
Could this be a blessing, or am I just cursed?
The longer I’m held by you, my thirst only grows.
Entranced by your eyes, I sigh and blush;
You smile, and my heart is drained of blood.
I thank God I can bear the exhilarating rush,
When tears of joy causes my eyes to flood.
Each day I look forward to seeing you;
Your beauty never ceases to stir my stimulation.
Moonlight floods the night with a soft hue,
But I swoon before your face with fascination.
Each night with you brings joy and anticipation.
Whenever I see you, it’s as if our love just began.
Filled with exhilaration, I drown in intoxication,
And your kiss sobers me, and makes me reason again.
How often people ask and question my sanity,
And why I constantly sing with joy, and bewail.
Your love bedazzled and made a fool of me;
Your beauty is what I breathe in, and exhale.

SHE SHOWS HER FACE
She shows her face, so pure with light,
And sedates me with her coy advances.
Like the full moon on the blackest night,
She draws me in deeper with her glances.
Her beauty enchants, even when she cries,
I gaze in bewilderment and fall prey.
She laughs, and spurns me with her eyes;
My heart melts, and she casually walks away.
The moon follows her where she may go,
And wanders aimlessly through the skies.
Suspended and motionless, dimming slow,
It’s overtaken by the glare in her eyes.
What two feet could turn away, but clack,
When her fingers comb her long soft hair?
One soft shake and she throws it back,
And the fragrance of flora fills the air.
My heart is sent soaring from my chest,
When I hear her soft and mellow voice.
And in my mind, all thoughts oppressed,
My speech falters, no breath to rejoice.
And what is beauty, but an illusion and a con?
It only taunts the heart and deceives the mind.
Beauty is only temporal as time sweeps on,
But my heart is foolish, and my eyes are blind.

MY SOUL IS TRAPPED
Like a moth drawn to burning light,
I circle closer to your flame;
Though my wings may singe in pure delight,
I cannot help but speak your name.
Your presence haunts my every breath,
A sweet torment I cannot flee—
From this beautiful, exquisite death
I cannot seem to break free.
My soul is trapped by your silly games;
It’s the way you smile with eyes so fair.
When you blush, you fan on the flames,
And the more distress my heart must bear.
Falling in love was not my choice,
But your beauty perplexes the mind.
Soft lips call me with a tender voice;
I’m ensnared, and the more hardship I find.
I can’t look away, and I can’t sleep,
I sit fixated on you, and can only stare.
Too stunned and paralyzed to even weep,
I’m all disarranged and disheveled like your hair.

JEALOUS MOON
We both walk out into the night,
But the full moon is cloaked in gloom.
Dark clouds roll in and quickly entomb
Heaven’s eternal and blessed light.
My love is beside me and succumbs to tears;
Her smile fades and the laughter disappears.
The sweetest of words I say to her,
And pour endless verses to fill her heart.
Suddenly, the crickets sing, the owl shrieks,
As the breeze picks up and the clouds part.
Her frown fades, and laughter begins to stir,
As she looks to heaven with her blushing cheeks.
Her face was now all aglow, and her eyes beaming bright;
The jealous moon through the clouds peeks
With envious resentment, to steal her light.

IN BEAUTY’S SWAY
Like a fool in beauty’s sway,
My heart is trapped in the fury of hell;
For your warm hugs and kisses I dwell,
Lost in your dreams, in chains I lay.
In the quiet of night, where crickets play,
A haunting whisper calls my name;
With every glance, you fan the flame,
Yet bind my soul in disarray.
In shadows of longing, I roam,
An echo of whispers that curl and confine,
Each sigh a reminder of moments divine,
Yet deep in my heart, I know I’m alone.
Oh, sweet visage, so fair, so bright,
Your laughter dances on the breeze;
Yet bitterness lingers beneath the trees,
But your face remains hidden from sight.
Each tender word, a silver knife,
Cuts deep into this fractured heart;
While yearning tears begin to start,
I seek the solace of a once happy life.
With every sweet glance, my spirit’s at stake,
A prisoner to passion that leads me astray,
While joy wears a mask in this sorrowful play,
Caught in the thrill that causes my heart to break.
But here I stand, beneath stars that weep,
A captive to this fervent plea;
In your embrace, I’m bound yet free,
In dreams of you, I lose my sleep.
The night unfolds, a velvet shroud,
As ghosts of hope rise from the deep;
In silence wrought, I long to keep
A love unkind, yet fiercely loud.
So let the world spin madly round,
For in this torment, joy can dwell;
In your warm hugs and kisses, I dwell,
Though like a fool, forever bound.

I ADORNED YOU
I gave you necklaces and fancy perfume
To encircle and caress your soft neck.
Fine silk and furs your body to deck,
But they only marred your beauty’s bloom.
I gave you gold and diamond bands
To beautifully adorn your fingers.
I filled all ten with the finest blinkers,
But they roughened the softness of your hands.
I bought you hats to cover your hair.
I feared the jealous wind might come and play,
And sweep up the fragrance of your tresses away,
And spread your sweet aroma everywhere.
Lastly, I bought you two lovely gowns to wear tonight;
But sadly, I burned them on my way to see you.
Poets may often be liars, but one fact remains true:
Your body should be clothed only in moonlight.

HER AMBIANCE
The moon was bathing her silky skin.
It was like light reflecting off light.
Such tender grace, all beauty within,
And soft cheeks, so fair and bright.
Her hued face radiates with a tender glow,
And alludes to the faithful to stray and sin.
Her eyes flicker like a fire burning slow,
And brings out a smile of dazzling delight!
The moon grows brighter, as more stars rush in,
But it’s her soft ambiance that embellishes the night!

ALL I WANT
My world has crumbled, but I don’t care;
All I want is to be your clown.
All my wealth and worldly possessions,
Have no value compared to your frown.
I don’t wish to comprehend this world;
I would rather fancy your supercilious sneer.
To see your face appear amid your tresses,
Like sunlight does when the skies clear.
The moon is encircled by a colorful ring,
But all I want is to look at your face.
The sea is blessed with glints of light,
But in your eyes is the radiance and grace.
I have given up all work and profession;
All I want is to be near you.
To find a tree where nightingales nest,
And tell your heart a poem, or two.
It’s all this crazy love poetry now,
And an intoxicated heart at your feet.
If poesy and song do not entice,
I have eager lips for kisses sweet.
This crazy poetry has intoxicated me.
All day and night, I want to verse you.
“His mind is lost!” They say, “The fool is mad!”
How wise people are to speak words so true!
I don’t care for this world and its false hopes;
Nor crave the promised world of eternal bliss.
No faith or religion; no mosque or church;
All I want is your sodden lips.

A ROSE SHE RESEMBLES
In a garden where the sunbeams dance,
A blossom blooms amidst the leaves.
Her silly laughter attracts all who glance,
A melody that brings the heart to ease.
A rose she resembles with all her essence,
And like a beautiful rose her face glows;
My love, whose skin is softer than petals;
I sometimes wonder how she’s not a rose.
A rose she resembles with all her essence,
With grace and charm, a beauty so sweet.
She matures and entices through florescence,
In every glance, my pulse skips a beat.
Her face, a canvas of dawn’s first light,
A blush of crimson, a hue so rare.
Her beauty glows, a wondrous sight,
In her gaze, the world seems more fair.
My love, whose skin is softer than petals,
Embraces me, and I find my true peace.
Each touch ignites my heart, and it settles,
In her sweet garden where all worries cease.
So let her be, this radiant flower,
Leave her to walk in the realm of the plain.
She is a symbol of love, of beauty, of power,
But in my heart’s garden, she shall forever reign.

COMMITTED TO MY LOVER
She smiles in tears and my heart aches.
For the likeness, I never knew,
How like a rose when dawn breaks,
That laughs quivering in morning dew.
I reach for a cloth to wipe her face,
But I paused thinking, ‘would I dare
Hold that to her beauty’s grace?
Her fairness demands more gentle care.’
So I pick soft petals to dry her eyes,
And she began to tremble and shake
Crying, “Such beauty we should not compromise!”
I reply, “I’m sacrificing beauty for beauty’s sake.”
And we lay there in a garden fair,
As owls serenade from a nearby tree.
And as my eyes wandered here and there,
Her darkest secrets my eyes did see.
The pesky clouds disperse, and the moon
Continued to rise in full array.
The trees dance to the winds tune,
And the crickets come out eager to play.
To the curious wondering, yes, we did it.
We shared a moment like no other.
My heart and soul for her I commit,
Whenever I dream and join my lover.

SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE
We held hands one night and walked,
Our lips were silent, but the eyes talked.
Beneath a lively tree with a special guest,
We laid and were serenaded without rest.
The sweetest music poured from his throat,
And we hugged and kissed with every note.
Melting in her, I vowed on my burning heart,
And to his melody, from her to never part.
All through the night that happy angel sung,
And nothing but poetry flowed from my tongue.
The crickets and fireflies enchant the night.
The full moon and stars burned with light.
There beneath heaven’s garden of grace,
My heart surrendered in her warm embrace.
What was I to do, but verse her beauty?
We fell into spells of passion and infidelity.
Looking into her eyes I cried, “A love pure and free,
The Poet of Eternity has scribed for you and me.
O Sweetheart, He gave me poesy to pursue,
And fairness and grace, He gave unto you.
Heed not the jealousy of the night skies,
When they wane before your coral eyes.
The song of the nightingale echoes loud and true,
Knowing how perfectly paired He made us two!”

AS YOU SLEPT
As you slept, a breeze so fair,
Blew in to stroke your long black hair.
Two birds came calling before the dawn,
Hoping to serenade you with a prayer.
With morning light yet to reveal its grace,
Crickets sang too, in this secret space,
Each chirp a tale, each sound a plea,
Hoping you’d peek out and show your face.
The moon held her position in the night,
Trying so hard to duplicate your soft light.
It glowed brighter, painting shadows on the walls,
While you lie sighing in dreams so bright.
In the stillness wrapped in midnight’s embrace,
I yearn for a moment—our time, a sacred space.
The world outside rests in the palms of deep sleep,
But here with hungry eyes, your curves I trace.
Lying beside you as I watch it all unfold,
I’m overcome, and your body I want to hold.
I wait hypnotized for your eyes to finally open,
That I may with my own eyes your beauty behold.
Oh, how I wish to chase the night away, it seems
To keep you clinging to your whisper of dreams.
I hopelessly pray the dawn will finally come,
But the stars still twinkle, the moon still beams.
A flicker of movement—the flutter of wings,
The birds find their courage and sing jubilant things.
They share tales of love, of journeys just begun,
And their arrival is welcomed and jubilation it brings.
Each note a promise, each pause a kiss,
An echo of moments I long to reminisce.
I see in your slumber the world laid bare,
Painted in twilight, a euphoria of bliss.
Crickets compete with their rhythmic song,
In this gentle chaos of darkness so tender and long.
Yet in their music, I hear their hopeful plea,
The lullaby woven for the night to prolong.
But now their sweet serenade turns to sighs,
They only perch and silently gaze to the skies.
The sun remains in suspension delaying its light,
Why should it rush when you have yet to open your eyes?
Then comes the dawn, with a golden embrace,
A soft whisper of light, ghosting your face.
As the warmth of the sun kisses your blushing cheeks,
I marvel at beauty, the essence of grace.
Oh, how I wish to capture this sight,
To hold in my heart this most perfect light.
And as you awaken, ethereal and new,
The world dances, and my heart takes flight.
So let the sun rise with its blinding array,
And chase the quiet magic of the night away.
For in slumber’s domain, true beauty unfolds,
Where love sings its secrets, and two hearts play.

INDITING YOUR BEAUTY
I sing of love because I admire beauty.
I solemnly accept my decreed duty.
Each breath I take, each miracle I view,
I voice the universe that reflects off you.
The stars that beautify my dreamy night
Are drawn to your eyes in broad daylight.
The sun frowns at the stars as if to say,
“Her beauty is mine to admire today!”
The moon, too, is attracted to your glow,
And seems to follow you wherever you go.
People look up in fear and wonder why,
The moon appears so chaotic in the sky.
The wind that blows and never dies
Comes to your door and earnestly cries,
“Bring to me your soft and lovely hair,
I long to laugh and dance forever there!”
Birds will come out calling with heavy sighs,
And wait for dawn to break from your eyes.
They seem restless, preparing all night to raise
Their sweet songs, your beauty to praise.
The serenity in your eyes, the blush on your face,
No splendor of spring or summer can replace!
Although summer may try in vain to outdo,
And will not display a lovelier rose than you!
All the while, I watch your swelling breast,
And I sigh, refusing to close my eyes and rest.
All through the night, I honored my sworn duty;
As you slept, I was up, inditing your beauty.

SIMPER OF RADIANCE
May you always be happy and keep smiling.
A smiling face will only uplift the soul.
The heart would sense it and live longer,
And it would seek other hearts to console.
This whole world has nothing pure to offer,
But for a caring heart that reaches out.
Your smile brightens a hopeless lover’s night,
And induces more laughter to cleanse all doubt.
Like that great smile that greets the morn,
And beckons all birds to rise with song;
Your smile shines brighter and induces the heart
That bleeds to sing all day, and all night long.
Your beautiful smile, as if it had a voice,
Stating to this world and heaven above,
“Do not blame my simper of radiance,
If the whole world grows restless with love.”
Your beautiful smile, look what it does-
It tells our souls to leap out and rejoice.
Your smile, so full of tenderness and caring,
It comforts all hearts with that silent voice.
You have a lovely smile. What more can I say?
It feeds my mind with the poetry of bliss.
My heart feels the words and is overjoyed,
And begs my lips your lips to kiss.

TWO LOVE BIRDS
I sat down to write you a love song,
But I could not find the perfect words.
So I pleaded with nature to sing along,
And I was greeted by two lovely birds.
They eagerly perched at my window,
And quickly sensed the pain in my heart.
We waited patiently until the sun began to glow,
And ordered the last star to depart.
As I stood mesmerized by their tune,
Each gentle note, inspiration would spark.
My heart stirred frantically, I thought I’d swoon,
And the verses unfurled like dawn in the dark.
Two love birds with feathers so bright,
Sang and praised the coming dawn.
As my heart swelled, I began to write
A poem inspired solely by their song.
Ode to the moment when two hearts shine,
Like petals of roses, fresh-kissed by the dew,
In the soft blush of morning, touched by the divine,
My verses are woven, my thoughts are of you.
I pray that the whispers from wings soaring high,
For each line is a prayer, a hope wrapped in rhyme;
Would reach you, my love, like a breeze passing by,
Echoing softly, transcending all time.
Do you hear the lovebirds, my sweet, tender muse?
Each flutter, a promise, each chirp, a delight.
Their chorus is rich with the love that they choose,
A symphony woven from pure golden light.
Through the stillness of dawn, as it starts to unfold,
They dance in the air, a majestic embrace.
The lovebirds take flight, and their story retold.
Teaching us love in its purest of grace.
So here is my offering, heartfelt and true,
With thanks to those angels who welcomed the dawn.
This poem is painted in colors of you,
A melody meticulously crafted, a love that goes on.
In the hush of the morning, when hearts softly blend,
And in every petal, in every sweet song;
Remember their echoes, and let love never end,
For in my heart, is where you forever belong.
I pray it finds your heart, and your heart sings
This poem with verses that ring so true.
You can thank those two feathered wings,
Who poured their hearts out all for you.

YOU
Astronomers dream and make false claims;
They can’t see the only star that shines true.
Philosophers preach and fall back to sleep;
Their feeble minds cannot fathom you.
Your form and grace are beyond thought.
An artist so gifted only dreams, but has no clue.
The painters all gather to trace your curves,
But wander in delusion gazing at you.
The rose and narcissus both wear your musk.
The lily and violet imitate your hue.
You shed tears of light and the sun smiles,
Persuading spring and summer to follow you.
Lovers seek the moon for inspiration,
But now, it’s your face they’re drawn to.
Your face is the envy of every woman,
Perfume and make-up don’t pertain to you.
Your beauty is peerless in heaven and earth.
You are that vision all poets swoon to.
They search for mysteries deep in the ocean,
But none have found a pearl like you!
If Poetry can’t verse you with all its magic,
Oh, Love! As your poet, I’m useless, too!
A lame weaver of words: What use am I?
The light of all poetry derives from you.

YOUR BEAUTY BAFFLES
When God first created roses,
He handpicked a certain few.
And picking the sweetest petals from each,
He carefully formed and blessed You.
What He whispered to those roses,
And made them laugh and dance on air;
He whispered into your heart, My Love,
And made You a hundred times more fair.
He made You from seven alternating lights.
A thousand blessings He did bestow.
Now, the jealous moon circles above You,
Trying to mirror Your soft glow.
Like an anxious artist, the mystic sun,
Through a cover of clouds begins to peek.
And all the pretty colors he brushes,
He borrows from Your blushing cheek.
The lilies are quiet, the violets are still;
Trees are motionless, no movement there.
From every direction, like wailing songs,
The four winds have gathered in Your hair.
The beauty that is you baffles praise.
Poetry is too mute to sing what must be sung.
But my heart is self-willed and cries out,
“The pearls of poesy must be strung!”
I hear the sweet singing of the nightingale.
I see the jasmine erect all bathed in dew.
Roses are blushing, the cypress is bowing;
Oh, love! I acknowledge no other beauty, but You!

YOUR SMILE
Your beautiful smile, look what it does to me;
It seduces my soul to leap and rejoice.
Your beautiful smile, radiating with beauty,
It comforts my sad heart with a silent voice.
You smile and blush, and my heart cries out,
Stating to this world and heaven above,
“Do not blame her simper of radiance,
If the world grows restless with love!”
Your lovely smile, what more can I say?
It feeds my mind the poetry of bliss.
My heart is raptured and melts away,
And begs my lips your lips to kiss.
